Strängbetong recently sponsored a competition for students of architecture in Sweden called “New Eyes” – the theme was designing a café. The prize for the winning students was seeing their design fully made in precast concrete by Strängbetong, and top visibility at a key construction trade fair.
At the Nordbygg trade fair, Northern Europe’s largest and most important construction industry event, which took place last week near Stockholm, the winning architectural design the Concrete Café was on display. Designed by architecture students Anton Bogårdh and Anders Stenholm, from the Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, the leading Swedish technical university, the Concrete Café comprises one-legged elements assembled with millimeter precision. The elements were assembled at the fair by Strängbetong.
