Consolis and Strängbetong invest in sustainable growth with new mixing station in Långviksmon

Enhancing capacity, productivity, and sustainability in northern Sweden

Consolis, together with its Swedish subsidiary Strängbetong, has made a significant investment in modernizing its factory in Långviksmon, located northwest of Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. With a total investment of approximately SEK 50 million, the site has undergone major upgrades, including the completion and startup of a new mixing station—a milestone in capacity expansion, efficiency, and sustainability.

“The investment in Långviksmon reflects our commitment to meeting increasing market demand while prioritizing sustainability,” says Patrik Lindh, Industrial Director, Consolis. “By upgrading our production capacity and optimizing efficiency, we are strengthening our position in northern Sweden as a leading supplier of precast concrete solutions.”

Strategic investment for a growing market

The Långviksmon factory plays a crucial role in supporting regional industrial growth, driven by expanding infrastructure, industrial projects, and public sector investments. The new mixing station enables higher flexibility in production, improved concrete quality, and increased efficiency, contributing to a lower environmental impact.

“We are in a market undergoing strong growth, driven by industrial property development and public infrastructure projects, including investments in defense and law enforcement facilities,” says Mikael Ericson, regional manager north, Strängbetong. “With this expansion, we ensure that we can continue to serve our customers with high-quality precast solutions while optimizing sustainability.”

A sustainable approach with smart resource utilization

The project in Långviksmon exemplifies Consolis’ commitment to circular economy principles. The new mixing station includes relocated equipment from a Consolis facility in Conflans, France, reducing the need for new material production. This approach not only optimizes resources but also significantly reduces environmental impact.

Expanding hollow core production

In addition to the mixing station, Strängbetong has opened a new hollow core production hall, further strengthening the factory’s ability to meet market demand. The SEK 10 million investment enhances production capacity for hollow core slabs, including the low-carbon Green Spine Line®, supporting Consolis’ ambitions to develop more efficient and sustainable construction solutions.

Collaboration for a stronger future

The modernization of the Långviksmon facility is the result of strong collaboration between Consolis, Strängbetong, and local partners, including Örnsköldsvik municipality. The upgrades ensure that the facility remains a pillar of sustainable, high-quality precast concrete production in the region.

“With this investment, we are not just enhancing our capabilities—we are securing the future of sustainable construction in northern Sweden,” concludes Patrik Lindh.
