When Hercuton, a prefabricated buildings solutions provider, realized their headquarters was getting too small for their needs, they did not simply look for a bigger one. They decided to build one. What’s more, they designed it to serve both as office space and as a showcase of the best technological solutions they had in store.
The offices are an architectural eye-catcher that also demonstrates many turnkeys, sustainable energy solutions. One is the VBI Climate floor used in hollow-core slabs developed by Consolis’ Dutch subsidiary VBI. Using this technology, the Hercuton headquarters became the first building in the Netherlands to use thermally activated concrete hollow-core slab floors.
