Enabling innovation

Consolis is leading the sustainable transformation of our industry towards net-zero emissions, one way is through enabling innovation. The results are integrated in the Consolis Green Spine Line®, the low-carbon precast concrete elements offered in seven of our markets.

Innovation drives sustainability in our industry and Consolis has a unique position to promote development and innovation towards net-zero precast concrete. Our controlled production environment already optimizes raw material usage, reduces energy consumption, and enhances design flexibility, resulting in lower carbon footprint products like precast hollow core slabs and walls. This approach drives sustainability in our industry and ensures Consolis’ future success by meeting market demands.

This allows us to refine and scale up successful innovations, aligning with global market demands.

Decarbonizing precast concrete is a core focus for Consolis. We explore alternative binders to reduce cement usage and streamline design processes to minimize material consumption.

In our commitment to transparency, Consolis tracks and reports the climate impact of our products, ensuring accountability for our sustainability efforts. Overall, the potential to decarbonize concrete production globally is substantial, and by fostering innovation and collaboration, Consolis plays an important role in driving this transformation.

Concrete results

Consolis aims to optimize its design and manufacturing processes by adopting and developing existing technologies and standards. We believe in involving all stakeholders early to achieve efficiency gains and reduce carbon emissions. With this approach, Consolis is committed to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that benefit both the environment and our customers.

During 2024, the sales of Green Spine Line®. certified products increased by 21 percent, reaching 1,195,000 tons, now accounting for 38 percent of Consolis’ total produced volume – up from 30 percent in 2023. This equals a carbon dioxide reduction of 44,000 tons, a 33 percent increase from the 33,000 tons saved in 2023. Additionally, one more market certified their product ranges, reinforcing Consolis’ leadership in the sustainability transformation of precast concrete production.
